Hard Decisions

So today after three weeks of having our baby Roca we have to take her to the vet to decide if she should be put down. She clearly has distemper and this is such a crappy thing to have happen. Our kids are feeling distraught over this as are we. She is our baby girl with whom we have come to love very much. I really don't know what to do and feel just sick about this turn of events. We love you Roca girl!

Dude, I'm sorry to hear that. My grandmother always had dogs and had to have them put down over the years. I remember how hard that was on her.
I'm not familiar with distemper. What is it? How did Roca come to be with you guys?
What a terrible time for this to happen.
I'm sorry.

We have had our puppy for about 3 weeks. She came from a rescue organization that brings dogs up from Mexico. Distemper is a viral disease that we treat with vaccines now so that dogs wont get it. Unfortunately, Roca wasn't treated before she was exposed. It's devastating to our kids.
