Change

Change. We all want to change something at some point. Whether it be the organization that we work for or the haircut that we have. Some changes are difficult to bring about and some are a natural progression. Some happen without even trying. Some happen with great effort.

Making personal changes to our habits and character is something that can be both instantaneous and a lifetime journey. In my life – change is more of a lifetime journey than an instantaneous event. If only it could happen now! That would be something to bottle and sell! Change in a bottle. Drink this and you will be instantly changed into the person you want to be. But the reality is, that most of the changes that we need to make to become successful people are of the “lifetime journey” variety.

Those slow moving changes are the ones that become the bane of our existence. It is the thing that we are constantly working on and see little or no improvement (Or so we are told!). Sometimes I feel like my life and character is like Mount Rushmore. It took years of painstaking work to carve out the mountain into something/someone who represents greatness. It is that same kind of patient work that is required of ourselves in order to shape our lives and characters into something great!
So be of good courage and know that the work you do on self-improvement is not in vain! You may not see the greatness of your life yet but it is coming. Be patient and keep your nose to the stone. Don’t give up because that change you want to happen will come. And with God’s help all things are posssible!
